As an important extension of coursework, a leisure programme is available to students, helping them to get to know Heidelberg and Germany. We take them to ancient castles, sports and leisure centres. Heidelberg and its surroundings are lively and full of exciting attractions for young learners, from fascinating historic buildings and museums to shops and parks. On Saturdays we provide full day excursions to cities such as Frankfurt, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart.

To relax after lessons students take part in cultural and sports activities, the range of which will typically include:

• Guided tour of the town and “treasure hunt”
• Sightseeings of local landmarks and excursions to places of interest
• Visits to museums
• Concerts, festivals, theatre and cinema visits
• Barbecuing and boat trips
• Board games
• Cinema during the afternoon and disco evenings with the OISE team
• Sports such as badminton, bowling, football, minigolf, swimming or tennis
