The school

 

Does the school close on German puplic holidays?

The school will be closed on 25 December, 26 December and 1 January. Lessons will be caught up in a 4-day-week.      

 

What is the mix of nationalities in the school?

Most of our students come from France and Switzerland. Others are Czech, Russian, English, Italian, Spanish, American, Swedish, etc.

 

Is W-LAN available at school?

OISE Heidelberg offers the possibility to use W-LAN at the school. Our students can also use the desktops and internet access in our multi-media centre.

 

Which facilities are available for the students?

All students can use our self-access centre with internet, E-learning and other facilities for self study,  our library with books, cassettes, CDs, videos and DVDs. Our students can also work at the public library which is very close to the school.

 

Where can the students have lunch?

There are several restaurants, bars and bistros close to school.

 

How are the language exams organised?

The students prepare the respective exam in their lessons. The OISE Team registers the student for the written and oral examination. The exams fees are directly paid by the student.

 


Accommodation

 

Does the school offer a booking service?

Over the years OISE Heidelberg has built up a good relationship with a range of hotels of various catagories. If you wish to stay in  a hotel, please contact us for our list of recommended hotels. The hotel reservation is made by OSE but the bill is settled directly by the student with the hotel.

 

When does the accommodation start?

Accommodation starts on Sundays prior to the first day at school and ends on Saturdays following the last day at school. The arrival time should be in the afternoon, the departure time in the morning. Please inform your host family about your approximate time of arrival . Extra nights are available on request.

 

How far is my host family from school?

Host families are chosen with great care and students are accommodated as closely as possible to the school. In most of the cases students travel about 15-20 minutes by bus or tram from the family to the school.

 

How many meals do I have per day?

If you book an adult course you will be given breakfast and dinner every day. As young learner (Yprog & YBAC) you will also be given a packed lunch which can be eaten at school.

 

Do you have special host families for executives?

On request OISE Heidelberg offers high standard host family stays with private bathroom and internet access.
